Mini RC Hummer

I wanted to give my Tamiya M05 a different look and decided on a Hummer body. Unfortunately I could not find any in my local hobby shops. Fortunately while I was browsing in a local supermarket, I chanced upon a toy Hummer. The body looked like a perfect fit for the Tamiya M05 M-chassis with a 225mm wheelbase.

Photo: Above is the finished product. A toy Hummer body mounted on a Tamiya mini r/c car chassis. Spent about 10 hours cutting windows and mounting tinted lexan. Also shaved some plastic from the body to reduce weight.

Photo: Left is the r/c Hummer body that has been modified with windows and twin sunroofs. Right is the original toy Hummer bought in a local supermarket for around $6 USD. 

Photo: This body won the "Best in Show" concours award in the 4th Luzon Island R/C Championships. And not only that, I used the body during the race.
