Why are they called nitro powered rc cars?

The term "nitro" refers to the nitrogen found in the fuel used for nitro rc cars. It is the nitro the provides power... allowing these cars to reach speed in excess of 80 mph! These are special fuel made for nitro rc cars, regular gasoline will NOT work!
