RC CAR TIPS IS BACK
Hi,
After a two month break, the RC Car Tips weekly newsletter is
back. Each weekly newsletter will contain r/c model car side-by-
side comparisons, news, buyer's guide, and of course the tips.
For this week, I dedicate this issue to those of you thinking who
are thinking of getting into 1/10 scale nitro touring cars but are
still undecided on what to buy. Read the side-by-side comparison
of 3 entry level / race quality models that are great for those new
to nitro rc cars.
For those of you who are ready to take the next step, that is faster
nitro touring cars that are designed for racing, please wait for
next weeks issue. Side by side comparison of 40+ mph nitro rc
cars from Associated, HPI, OFNA, Traxxas, Yokomo and more!
As always, hope you have fun with the r/c hobby, and please pass
this email to your friends and mailing list.
Many thanks.

1/10 SCALE NITRO RC TOURING CARS
There are many models and brands to choose from. But for
beginners, I recommend starting out with a nitro touring car that
has a single speed transmission. It is simpler in design and will
give you the experience to later on upgrade to the faster 2-speed
models.
Of all the models and brands, I personally would buy either an
Associated or HPI because of the quality and high performance
design (speed and handling). The side-by-side comparison
buyer's guide can be found at:

MAKE YOUR RC NITRO CAR FASTER
Q: How do I make my nitro rc car faster?
A: Faster motors, better fuel, and a tuned pipe will increase your
horsepower and make your car faster. You can also install high
grip rubber tires, ball bearings, oil filled shock absorbers, and
aerodynamic body shells to help your car handle the extra
horsepower.
And of course, a 2-speed transmission can give you an extra
10 miles per hour in top speed.

RC NEWS
Tekin, a company once popular in the 90s for making high quality
electronic speed controls and chargers, is back. That's good news
for Tekin lovers such as myself. They made good products (I am
still using a Tekin ESC and BC112 charger from 1992) and it is
good to see them back in the r/c hobby.
TEAM LOSI has joined the nitro monster truck craze with their
new Team Losi LST (Losi Super Truck). At 44 mph, this is
definitely a contender to the HPI Savage 25 and Associated
Monster GT. Read more at Team Losi's official website:
http://www.teamlosi.com/kits/LST/index_main.htm
YOKOMO, well known for championship winning cars, has come
out with the Super Drift Cars. These are awesome and drift
sideways just like the full scale cars seen in Grassroots
Motorsports Magazine, Super Street, Sport Compact Car,
Import Tuner and other car magazines.

BEST STEERING ANGLES FOR A NITRO CAR
Hi,
I'm new to nitro cars, having hacked around with an electric car
for some time. I'm stumped as to how to best set up the steering
angles for my nitro car.
I'd appreciate tips from the experts on how this is best achieved.
Thanks for the newsletter...
Regards,
Rick

Hi Rick,
Steering angles, you mean toe in and toe out? Toe in will make it
more stable in a straight line, toe out give more steering when
entering corners. But the best setting will depend on your car
model. Suggest you look at the fast guys, and check what settings
they are using for your track.
