RC Car - Year End Review of 2010
Content * 2010 RC Car Popular Models* 2010 Memorable Races * RC Car Tips for Winning Races Lot's of new products and big races made 2010 very exciting for the rc car hobby. First let's take a look at the new rc cars. 2010 RC Car ModelsIn off-road, 1/10 short course r/c trucks and 1/8 e-buggies were the new trend. Short course were scale looking, cheap and realistic to race and attracted a lot of newcomers to the hobby.

In on-road, Tamiya was very active in producing new models such a 1/10 FWD Touring, Formula 1, Drift and Mini radio control cars. In Japan, drifting is very popular with Yokomo producing a lot of realistic and performance oriented remote control drift cars. In Europe, 1/10 Touring Cars are popular and professionals battle it out in the Euro Touring Series. Speeds of over 100kph were recorded on some tracks. 2010 Memorable RC Car RacesOn the International scene, Marc Rheinard wins the 1/10 IFMAR Electric Touring Car Worlds for the third time with a Tamiya 416. And in off-road, Cody King wins the 1/8 IFMAR Nitro Buggy World Championship with a Kyosho MP9. On the local regional level, 2010 was a very busy and memorable year of racing for me. Started with the 4th Luzon Island R/C championship where me and my wife raced in an out of town event held only every 3 years. This was also the year when my 9 year old daughter Porsha started to race. I found racing more enjoyable with my daughter, and she ended the year with a 2nd Place finish in the 2010 Futaba Cup. I think she is now a better driver and racer than me. Also highlight of the year was the 13th Tamiya Asia Cup regionals held in my home country, the Philippines. Racing inside a mall, against racers from 7 countries, in front of thousands of mall shoppers, was very exciting and pressure packed. For pictures and videos of these events, please visit the rc racing page. Hope these entice you and your family to race and make it a family event. RC Car Tips for Winning RacesI'm just a regular hobbyist who enjoys racing. Hope these tips help you win races.
