Tamiya 2009 Worlds M-Chassis Winners
Here are some photos I found courtesy of Mr. Masatoshi (Grahoo). Thank you Mr. Masatoshi for posting on flickr. The 1rst Place winner was an M05-L. Pictures say a thousand words, here is a photo of the chassis. Looks like very soft front springs and medium/hard rear. The long configuration is probably more stable and smoother around corners. In Japan they allow chassis to be cut to lessen weight. Interesting to see the use of aluminum front steering knuckles and the placement of the electronic speed control. ![]() Below is a photo of the 2nd place m-chassis. It is an M05 with medium wheelbase. Interesting to see yellow springs all around, full motor heatsinks and again front aluminum steering knuckles. Seems esc placement is to shorten the wires for less resistance and mor power.
The third place car below took lightweight to the extreme. It is an L (long) configuration.
Seems like the dominant chassis is the M05. No M03s made the podium. Time to work on my own M05 for the 2010 racing season. Have fun!
