Story of Traxxas

The company started in 1987 with the idea of selling ready to run electric rc cars and nitro r/c trucks.

In 1989, Traxxas also produced remote control boats. 

In 1992, Traxxas released the Nitro Hawk. This was their first ready to run gas powered r/c truck.

In 1996, Traxxas continued the nitro trend by producing the Nitro Vee. This was a ready to run remote control boat.

In 1999, Traxxas produced the highly popular radio controlled T-Maxx. It was a 1/10 scale nitro truck with forward / reverse transmission, 8 oil filled shocks, and a top speed of 30+ mph.

In 2000, Traxxas produced a fast, 1/10 scale, 4 wheel drive, 2 speed transmission electric rc truck called the E Maxx.

In 2002, Traxxas released the T Maxx 2.5 nitro rc truck, a much faster version of the original T Maxx. Speeds were now exceeding 40 miles per hour!
